Elon University design and film student based in North Carolina between Greensboro and Raleigh.
I'm Sylvie, a fourth year (yes, senior!) student at Elon University pursuing communication design and cinema arts. I grew up in Cary, North Carolina, just outside of Raleigh and about an hour from where I currently attend school. I've spent my whole life exploring different ways to create art and express myself. I have experience working with countless mediums, including digital photography, acrylic and watercolor painting, charcoal and pastels, collage, and graphite. Currently, I spend my days honing my skills in digital design, image manipulation, web design, and cinematography. Recently, my favorite projects have been prop designs and illustrations.
My favorite way to create is to break the rules, think outside the box, and find unconventional solutions to unexpected problems. This has led me to explore the crossroads of my interests through production design and art direction for student films. Directors love the feeling of seeing their vision brought to life through props and set dressing, and I love the feeling of solving problems with larger than life ideas. After graduating, I hope to find a way to continue working in this niche. In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer and rugby, traveling, hiking, and cooking.
